10 things driving me mad thus far.
1) Ambition. I want to take Theory ABRSM Grade 5 in Nov. but I know nuts about music, even cadences (according to Clinton). (tsk tsk shame shame you say...) Guess I'm gonna need to consult people like Mr Leonard Tan and Fei Yang soon.
2) TV stupidity. Channel 5 featured The Noose and 80's Rewind back-to-back. (Thank God/Fate/Allah/Buddha/ any God you believe in) (no racism intended) that IT'S THE SEASON FINALE TONIGHT for The Noose!!! Phew. Let's hope the following show has some intelligence.
3) Homework. There's research needed on Billy Joel's We Didn't start the Fire and I have to research on the lyrics, which happen to be on things like the H Bomb and the Rosenbergs for GP. UNFortunately it has to be presented TOMORROW. Fortunately I'm not going for GP tomorrow because of medical check up on my brain.
4) VJC Angel and Mortal. For those who don't know what it is, it's some kind of Valentine's Day initiative where you write/ give presents to someone of the opposite sex in your senior/junior class. There's one initiative for the class. There's another for the Band. My handwriting is crap. So what how I write to the 2 people I got? Do I get presents as well?
5) O Level Results. Rumours are widespread. Many versions exist. RJ/Collin/LamYY said it's out this Friday. Mr Heng said that Schools will be informed 1 day before the official release. Stomp? Ah heck care about Stomp. Personally I'm having nightmares with results. First, EL B4, HCL A1 Everything else A2. I'm darn bloody freaking sure that I want to stay in VJC. But my results... Well, doesn't sound good especially when I had seizures 1 day before EL Oral and another before A Math Paper 2.
6) Chinese in JC. My dad wants me to take Chinese Lit. I flip. If it's Chinese H1 I'm already quite pissed as that reduces the time spent in other subjects (Even though it's a subject I'll probably find fodder. As seen in the first Chinese lesson where I was helping nearly everyone in the class with their 成语. Now there's Chinese Lit and he argues that only people weak in Chinese and those that speak English at home drop the subject. Ironic eh? Anyway, Nuff said about Chinese, whether it's H1, H2, H3, OR H2O.
7) Subject Combination part 2. Once again it's got to do with my dad. Besides wanting me to take Chinese Lit, he also wants me to take Chem. As though I don't want to. But well, I got into the Arts Stream so no sirree. 3 Arts and 1 Science. And I'm not letting Maths go now. What's more, he claims that the subjects I take are the ones considered to be “容易容易的”. I don't know if it's true, but to quote Toh Ming Xuan (who takes the exact same LHEM combination) , "JC History will make you hate History." Speaks about the difficulty/ tenacity of the subject no?
8) VJ Band. I feel my standards are the weakest in my section. Well never work hard in CHSSB what? But that's not the point. I also have unfinished business to settle in band. This also includes taking Percussion Grade 8 next year, which so happens to be SYF AND A LEVEL year. VJ Band had a GWH last year mind you, so I don't want to ruin it just as I had ruined CHSSB's GWH last year. So the pressure is on.
9) Taxi fares. Taxi fares are increasing. So does my blood pressure when I see the bill from my house to VJC. I think many of you are affected too. Need I say more?
10) Medical condition. Firstly, I've had enough of having people give me weird looks when I talk to them. The feeling sucks, and I can't communicate well with others because of that, regardless whether it's in class, band or on the bus. I remembered this pregnant woman shooting a frustrated look at me when I gave my seat to her last year, as though I'm staring at her privates or what. Yet ironically, no one knows about my condition in VJC save for certain people whom I've told (and of course the CHS people). Nuff said. Tentatively an operation is planned, but not before another eye check up in 2 weeks' time. As for my epilepsy, guess I'm shelving that for now. It's not seizure season now for me.
So that's what driving me nuts for now. The list grows on...
Good Night.
