And the holidays were gone.
Week 1: Mega week with A's Chinese, SMUN, SATs and the return home. It went surprisingly well... spotted the right topic for Compre, then there's honorable mention in SMUN SC and we got (one of the) Best Delegation prizes to boot. SATs were horrendous though. And the flight home was something I looked forward to.
Week 2: BALI!! Was expecting much much more, but what the hell. Sunset at Kuta Beach and sunrise on the roof of my hotel was just splendid. Shopping was umm, not what I expected too. But I Parasailed, rode on a jet ski, without getting sunburn.
On a side note Guiness is so much better than Bintang.
Then it was back in Jakarta again. Food was frigging cheap, and not bad. But my work became a total mess. Did only 1 GP Compre and 1 essay. BAD. BAD. BAD. And my house was a huge mess cos dad was unwilling to repair it (The $$ is spent on us) nor get a maid (My family doesn't trust the maids in JKT). The toilet doors broke down and the floor was damn dirty.
The Sunday visit to the Clan Association thing was just wine and brunch and not the H3 interview expected. But I helped someone set up a Facebook account yay.
Week 3: Same as week 2, homework, beating mosquitos, eating, CS once in a while, and then came Limewire and I couldn't stop downloading songs. (Not a lot though).
Weather is really burning and ended up studying without my shirt on. (Bad move, the mosquitoes went for my fats and whatever muscle I have under construction)
AND Yes, thanks to certain people who want me to show them around Indonesia, I've now got another reason to really whip myself up to do well academically.
There was also another wedding I attended (Dad's friend's son) which was not just lavish but also like attended by many bigshots in Indonesia. The wedding wreaths, for one, came from Banks, firms, MNCs and other local Chinese and extended from the hotel lobby to the car park 200 metres away. Made me realise how right I was not to scrap Chinse after just getting the B, cos I wasn't bamboozled when talking to them haha.
Then we returned to SG after my H3 observation/interview at my Dad's magazine's press conference. (YAY) (It wasn't fruitful, but was fruitful at the same time).
Week 4: There's GIC visit which cleared many doubts about the firm and all. And mugging picked up pace (at last), at Changi AP Macs (then the news of CTs being postponed came in), KAP Macs, even Cat High with people like Patrick, Mu Yao, Elin, Edna, Cynthia and Joe.
Went back to CHSSB to visit and they've got a concert like tomorrow? Wanted to study and ended up psychoing everyone to come for NSSN and VJ instead of Bishan JC and watch the Sec 4s happily get on each other's backs. But on the bright side, learnt Viva la Vida on marimba harharhar. Thanks Michael & Wei Hao and everyone.
SAT results came in and realised that once again I've got my back against the wall for SATs.
Went to CMPB for Medical Check Round 2 (apparently I have low blood count). Wanted to go VJ to mug after that but was rejected at the door cos I just came back from a H1N1 country. Trip back home was quite screwed up cos the SBS sent some minion to check tickets and demanded I pay adult fare (I lost my EZ Link card). Not willing to compromise, I left the bus and took the next one and paid 55 cents. Hah.
And now the June holidays are coming to an end. I have borrowed time now cos CTs are postponed, but it makes little difference cos the A Level timetable will go on as planned.
More importantly, seeing how dad's business isn't doing that fantabulously well, and how he's placing all his hopes on the 4 of us in SG, there's (I damn hope) the drive to mug and get the results I want so very much to put myself in the best position to change things in Indonesia. Starting from home.
OK Gnite.
